Tactile Bear Setup with Bioexplorer

Note: If you are using bioexplorer with the Neuroamp - it has it's own built in tactile driver and an object in the bioexplorer list of objects for controlling the tactile device in the Neuroamp. If you are using a Neuroamp, click here.

For any other BioExplorer system, use the following:

1. Connect the tactile bear to the sound card. The tactile bear replaces the speakers on your bioexplorer computer so that you hear both a beep, and a vibration with the reward band when the client succeeds.

2. Follow the connection diagram in order to connect the bear to the speaker jack on the computer

3. Install the latest version of bioexplorer

4. Download a design file that uses the tactile audio and a beep for the reward: 2 screen version (download into the designs folder)

5. Download the beep sound into media folder which works with the design above.

Troubleshooting Tips

- No sound from the bear - testing the bear
If you don't hear any sound at all from the bear, a great way to test the bear is to plug him into another sound source that you know works. For example you can connect the bear to the headphone jack on your stereo and listen to your favorite mozart CD through the bear. To do this, follow the connection diagram using your own sound device as the source.

- Constant humm with no change in amplitude with the feedback.
You may notice that touching the end of the signal cable to metal will create a ground hum, which can be mistaken as the normal vibration of a working tactile bear. Make sure the plug is in all the way.
