Alpha Theta Training

Description and Purpose

This 2-day advanced course on Alpha-Theta Training offers clinicians a deep dive into one of the most transformative neurofeedback approaches, designed to facilitate deep-state experiences for clients. Building on foundational neurofeedback knowledge, Alpha-Theta Training explores the intersection of brain wave states, conscious and subconscious processes, and guided imagery to promote profound therapeutic outcomes.

The course features a blend of lectures, group discussions, and hands-on practice, making it an engaging and comprehensive experience. With a class size limited to 14 attendees, participants benefit from ample opportunities for interaction and personalized guidance. Offered both online and in-person, this course ensures flexibility to meet the diverse needs of clinicians eager to expand their skills.

  • Describe the appropriate physical setup and client introduction as preparation for a deep-state experience.
  • Demonstrate electrode placements and system setup for one-channel referential Alpha-Theta training.
  • Explain the process of setting up and conducting two-channel Alpha-Theta training.
  • Understand Clinical Applications when deciding when to introduce Alpha-Theta training with a neurofeedback client.
  • Describe when and how to combine Alpha-Theta (deep-state) and ILF (awake-state) training.
  • Explore Practical and Theoretical Foundations
  • Incorporate best practices such as integrating guided imagery and post-session reflections to enhance session effectiveness and identify impediments to successful Alpha-Theta training and strategies to overcome them.
